DGM Gemsonas

So I finally made Gemsona versions of my DGM OCs. Ryanna is a (blue) Topaz, while Richie is a Ruby. The purple lady is their fusion form, Amethyst. It was difficult coming up with gems for each, and Ryanna was the only one who got a gem that isn't a canon character thus far in Steven Universe.

 Topaz is known as "The Stone of Love and Good Fortune.”  It promotes openness to one's own inner wisdom, directing energy to where it is most needed, healing and stabilizing emotions. It manifests and magnifies visualization to heal and fortify all senses. It has the properties of a messenger intrusted to manifest. It produces a soothing, clearing and stabilizing effect within the nervous system.
 Ryanna's gem is Topaz for multiple reasons. One, it's one of the few well-known gemstones that comes in blue and yellow, Ryanna's favorite colors. The blue topaz represents the more calm and collected side of Ryanna, while yellow/gold topaz embodies her more energetic, happy and fun-loving side. As a stone promoting love, it also fits Ryanna's character to varying degrees. The placement of her heart-shaped gem on her chest symbolizes how she acts with her heart first and foremost, also being fun-loving and energetic. At the same time, she can be too open about her emotions, making her vulnerable in that sense. 


 Ruby is the "The Stone of the Star of Fire.” It carries the full spectrum of light believed to bring enlightenment to humanity. It encourages passion for life and provides a powerful shield during controversy. A strong healer for the heart, rubies bring about a positive and courageous state of mind.
 Richie's gem is Ruby, to represent the many 'red' sides of his character. Heated, passionate, driven and even lustful. Richie is a guy who knows what he wants, and usually doesn't let anyone or anything get in the way of that. He loves his sister, his adoptive family and is passionate about many things, the most notable being his obsession with Alice in Wonderland. His gem is located below his naval, closer to his reproductive organs, representing the fact that he isn't afraid to act on his desires and lusts. 


 Amethyst is the "Stone of Spirituality and Contentment.”  Amethyst shifts energies to higher frequency, emanating stability, peaceful strength and calm, ushering lightness and lovingness to one's environment.  It is a powerful protective stone with a healing effect on physical, emotional and psychological challenges.
 Amethyst represents the 'perfect union and balance' of the twins. Two hearts in one body, as evidenced by the gems on their body. Their eyes covered to show that they don't chose a side in anything. Light/dark, sun/moon, feminine/masculine. They are a perfect yin-yang, wearing a royal color and mixing the blue of love with the red of passion. They are finally one being and are happy to be reunited after a long seperation. Amethyst is the stone of February, the month of love, passion and desires.
